X-Statix Inspired Dog Names

Myles came from a very academically gifted family; his Father was renowned in his field while his Mother was an ethnomusicologist - one who studies music from other cultures. Myles' parents were able to provide him with everything he needed to succeed in life. Everything, that is, except a loving and supportive pair of parents who were actively interested in their son's life. As a result, Myles never really bonded much with his adoptive family as they were too busy prioritizing their careers above him. 

Despite his emotionally neglectful household, Myles was able to make it to Harvard University. There, he published numerous books about mutants and became respected for his efforts by most of his peers. There were exceptions to this trend, however, as Myles' writings also earned him the ire of those who possessed profoundly anti-mutant worldviews. Tensions came to head one fateful day, when a group of bullies tried to attack Myles on campus. It was at this moment that Myles' mutant powers first manifested, causing him to transform into a monstrous lupine form. 

When the dust settled, Myles' attackers were badly cut and he was terrified of his new powers. Seeking guidance, Myles joined the newly formed X-Force team. By the time the team re-branded themselves as X-Statix, he learned to control his abilities and emotions. Myles found in his X-Statix teammates the family he never had. They all fought many battles together and saved many lives over the years until the group decided to retire. Before they officially called it quits, the team took on one last assignment at the behest of an anonymous individual. It was during this mission that Myles was tragically gunned down, alongside many of his fellow friends and family. Though his end was unjust, Myles' actions in life paved the way for other mutants and scholars wishing to do some good in the world.

In pop culture we can also find a courageous canine named Myles, alike in his will and tenacity to Myles Alfred. Myles the Pit Bull was born in Texas. At birth, he had obvious deformities such as a rare split nose and a cleft palate, and at 8 weeks old developed a golf ball-sized hernia. Needless to say, Myles needed a lot of extra special help and surgeries to help him survive. But he had will, and survive he did, to become the face for Smyles for Myles Rescue!
