The story is set in a highly stylized version of Santa Monica, where players are able to interact via voice control with Artie, a small blue dog that is trying to find his way back to the beach. The first chapter of the story was released in October of 2018, and players are able to instruct the dog to do tricks and follow commands, with new chapters promised in the future.

The experience makes extensive use of Google’s WorldSense technology that allows for the character to move more smoothly in game-play, giving it the option to move forward and backward, slide to the right or left, crouch or jump, rotate left or right, pitch (look) up and down, and to lean forwards or backwards. It also allows for reasonable conversations with the characters that are encountered by Artie by utilizing Googles Natural Processing and Artificial Intelligence. This game isn’t particularly mentally taxing, but it was designed to be emotionally engaging, and it does help to kickstart more speculation on how more sophisticated AI characters can be utilized to create new and entertaining experiences.
