Vancouver Dog Names

A dog from Vancouver received some media attention after being allegedly stolen. His owner, Michael Lorimer, described his pup, a Jack Russell-Chihuahua cross, as “family”. Lorimer had gone into a Church’s Chicken BBQ and left his pup, named Mishah, outside. When he came back out, his dog was gone. Fortunately, the dog was spotted by a good Samaritan. According to the police, two people spotted Mishah and called 911. One of the individuals who spotted the dog was Garrett Ruesen, who stated that he was walking his dogs through the Gastown area and was taking a shortcut through an alley as he made his way home. Ruesen explained that he saw a man with a baby stroller; and realized that there was not a baby in it, but a dog. Ruesen recognized the dog from missing dog posters that had been placed around Vancouver. After phoning a number from the poster, he followed the man with the stroller, ultimately deciding to call the police when he thought he saw the man hit the dog. Mishah was brought back to Lorimer and the man that had her was arrested on an unrelated warrant. Fortunately, the dog showed no sign of physical trauma.

Stanley Park is a park that is on the border of the downtown area of Vancouver. Stanley is also the name of a pup that is popular on social media. A Golden Retriever, Stanley’s owners adopted him from Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid Florida. A post by Imgur user KCN1 stated that the first time they met their new pup, they found him sleeping on top of the dining room table at his foster home. He did not respond to his name, but once woken, he was happy, gave plenty of kisses and went to the front door. The owners figured he was letting them know he wanted to go home with them and so he did. It quickly became apparent that Stanley was not at all aggressive and was good with people, animals and kids. They also found that Stanley was not so good at learning commands. He also had some unique habits, like running out the door, chewing on the Christmas tree and hiding certain items in the house. And he did not respond to his name. Two professional trainers gave up when working with Stanley, with one believing that the pup might be mentally challenged. A dog IQ test was found by his owners that seemed to confirm that the pup might be mentally challenged. Fortunately, this did not impact the love his owners feel for the sweet and loving pup, who has developed quite a following on Imgur.
