Tron Dog Names

Three notable names appear in both pop culture and the Tron series. Some have minor parts while others are stars in their field. Roy, Sam, and Beck all appear in movies and TV series.

Firstly, Roy has a minor role in both Tron and the Australian TV series McLeod’s Daughters. In Tron, Roy Kleinberg, played by Dan Shor, is a computer programmer for ENCOM, as well as Alan Bradley’s co-worker. Roy only appears at the beginning of the first Tron movie. He creates a Ram program to connect an insurance company and ENCOM. While doing so, he is working next to Alan.

Alan Bradley went to see a man called Ed Dillinger after being blocked from the system. Roy upsets the apple cart by asking for some of his popcorn. In the credits, the producers merely refer to him as the popcorn co-worker.

Roy’s role in McLeod’s Daughters is as Claire McLeod’s heading dog. He appears throughout several series as Claire’s righthand man. He rounds up stock and also gets injured and spends a lot of time at the house during this time. Over time, Roy becomes less prominent on the show until two new heading dogs take his place.

Next is Sam, both a character on Tron and a dog in pop culture. In pop culture, Sam is Hondo’s dog in the United States film of the same name – Hondo. Hondo is a Rough collie. The movie follows a cavalry scout who finds a son and his mother living among Apaches involved in a war. He becomes their protector.

Unfortunately, after Hondo gets involved in the Apache war, the Chief Vittoro takes revenge and kills Sam, leaving his body on Hondo’s porch.

Sam in Tron is Kevin Flynn’s son who appears in the second film: Tron – Legacy. He is a controlling shareholder in ENCOM.

Finally, Beck appears as a Tron character and a dog in pop culture too. Beck in Tron is a vehicle maintenance programme voiced by Elijah Wood. He leads a revolution against Clu 2 and becomes as powerful as Tron. Eventually, he challenges Tesler and his oppressive forces.

Beck in pop culture is Ryusuke’s dog in a Japanese comic book, movie, and an animated TV series. Beck is a generic dog breed, but he looks like a Shiba Inu. His role is significant as he stays by Ryusuke’s side as he tries to pursue a career in the music industry with varying degrees of success.
