Toy American Eskimo Dog Names

If you haven't seen the movie 'The Proposal,' then you are missing out on some great entertainment. Of course, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are the human stars, but then there is Kevin, the real star of the film! He is one gorgeous fluffy white, irresistible American Eskimo Dog who wows the moviegoers and steals the show! While we only see one dog, the part is portrayed by four different dogs. Their names were Flurry, Sitka, Nanu, and Winter - such awesome names for an American Eskimo Dog. However,  it was Flurry who became the favorite among the cast, and he stole the leading lady's heart. She could be heard apologizing profusely after playing the part where her character was attempting to sacrifice the poor dog to a hungry eagle, saying that she didn't mean to try and hurt him. Like all dogs, Flurry forgave her and refused to bark at her later in another scene. Seems like she wasn't the only one to lose her heart! The dogs have worked in movies before, having taken part in the fun kid's movie called 'Hotel For Dogs' with Emma Roberts, so they are professionals! 

These gorgeous dogs live in Los Angeles with their trainer when they are not out working in a movie. A lot goes into training the dogs how to act alongside their famous stars. For 'The Proposal' the streets and grounds were closed off before filming, to make sure the dogs were safe and wouldn't be distracted. Often behind the camera, the trainer would give the dog a cue to either bark, jump or whatever the move they wanted the dog to do. When Sandra Bullock played the part of mean Margaret and Flurry got in her way, she had to chase him with her blow dryer to move him. This scene was practiced many times and with the dryer on a cooler setting. Rather than upsetting the dog, they enjoyed it and thought it was a game. And while there is a part in the movie where Kevin (our cute American Eskimo Dog) got snatched by an eagle, that segment was not as it seemed. Trick photography and a stuffed toy were employed to make it look like the eagle attacked. Don't worry; the dogs didn't suffer anything nasty as the film implies. Even in a scene where Margaret runs around holding Kevin by the waist,  the actress was well trained in how to run with the pup safely while that eagle hovering overhead was never really there - it was added digitally afterward. It must have been fun making that movie and having four playful fluffy American Eskimo Dogs around. It goes to show how intelligent these dogs are; they are not all just good looks!
