Introduction

Trying to find a good dog name? Well, if you're a fan of the Thief series, especially Thief II: The Metal Age, then you're in the right place! Thief revolutionized stealth gaming and set the bar quite high. Although some of the newer games have weaker writing or plot lines, they are still fun to play, and certainly bring forth a level of difficultly any sneaky player appreciates. So, if you want to name your dog after one of the best examples of stealth, then check out the following names. Even if you don't quite find one you like, you can always use them to brainstorm.

Thief II: The Metal Age Dog Name Considerations

Thief is a series known for its use of clever stealth, giving players an array of tactics, tools, and maneuvers to use in their repertoire. Everything from choke arrows, to blackjacks and poison gets used quietly, skillfully, and just enough to keep Garret (protagonist/playable character) from getting into trouble.

Well, at least that's the idea anyway. You're bound to trigger an alarm at some point, but can you get out of it and retreat back into the shadows? This is the entire concept of the series, and it's a good one. More importantly, it's great if you have a sneak thief dog ready for a name.

Here are some things to keep in mind: if you don't have the dog yet, because you're adopting from a shelter, go ahead and come up with names you think would work for a dog. Take inspiration from everything you love, such as Thief 2. And list both female and male names, to be safe.

If you already have the dog, but haven't come up with a name yet, then you're in luck. Use your knowledge of their breed, gender, appearance, and quirks to influence a name selection. And don't be afraid to also take inspiration from series you enjoyed. The right name should bring back fond memories.
