Nathan Fillion is a Canadian-American actor who has a career in theater and acting that spans a little over two decades. He was nominated for his first Emmy in 1996 for his portrayal of Joey Buchanan in the soap opera, One Life to Live and continued on to several major characters in television shows including Johnny Donnelly in Two Guys and a Girl, Captain Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly, and Richard Castle in Castle, along with appearing in several films and voicing multiple animated roles for television, movies, and video games. His newest role is that of John Nolan, a recently divorced forty-year-old who moves from Pennsylvania to Los Angeles to become a police officer.

Nathan, the dancing dog, was a little less well-known, until recently; in fact, until recently he was considered by many to be a little bit of a lost cause. This adorable Chinese Crested dog suffered from some serious fear aggression and was shuttled around for quite some time, being ousted from six different foster homes in just four years, until he landed at the rescue center Bald is Beautiful, a center focused on helping find homes for hairless and small breed dogs in Greenville, South Carolina. Bald is Beautiful placed the petrified pooch with foster mom Tina Westkaemper around three years ago, and the two bonded quickly, prompting Tina to adopt the little guy, and he has now become a much happier, playful dog who can jump high into the air, loves playing with toys, and shares his home with four other dogs, Chip, Demi, Kramer, and Gilligan. It was here that Tina first observed Nathan’s extraordinary dancing ability, a skill she discovered he had when scratching his back on his favorite cushy office chair. To everybody’s delight, Tina recorded the dog’s antics and posted them online, garnering over 30,000 views and turning him into an internet sensation. Nathan’s YouTube channel features him dancing to several different pieces including songs like Run, Run, Rudolf, Happy, Thrift Shop, Cupid Shuffle, and to Gramma Tillie’s accordion music; sometimes Gilligan even joins in on the fun. His videos have been on several television shows since then, including on Arsenio Hall, Animal Planet, and the Today Show, earning him a large fan base. Nathan’s dance moves have drawn a great deal of positive attention for both the Chinese Crested breed, which has increased adoptions of these quirky and expressive dogs, as well as providing financial support the Bald is Beautiful rescue center.
