German Shepherds named Kelly, a name they share with the First Officer of the Orville, have been featured on television or in film at least twice. None of their travels can compare with those of Claire the Bull Terrier, however, a dog who shares her name with Dr. Claire Finn, the Chief Medical Officer aboard the USS Orville. Dutch photographer Alice van Kempen has been a photographer for 30 years and has focused on pictures of dogs since got her first Bull Terrier, Jock, in 1993. When Alice went to visit the abandoned town of Doel, located in Belgium, she took a few pictures of her trusted canine companion, Claire, who turned out to be an exceptional model. Since then, Claire and Alice have been travelling Europe, searching for abandoned vehicles and abandoned buildings and doing photo shoots at abandoned locations including not only abandoned houses, but also abandoned castles, trains, churches, prisons, coal mines, monasteries, and hospitals. Claire seems to enjoy the modelling, often posing for several minutes at a time so that her partner can get the shot just right, and we certainly enjoy the result.
