Introduction
The Good Wife Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
At the helm of his massive political comeback was none other than Eli Gold. Eli started out as Peter's campaign manager but was later promoted to Chief of Staff. He is blunt, rude and more than a little offensive. He was one of those characters that you loved to hate but later grew to sort of like. In a small way, but you would never admit it to anyone. At one point he has a shot at a happy ending but ruins it for himself when he seeks revenge in a terrible way. Thankfully, for all those closet Eli fans, he redeemed himself. Eli was never in the spotlight, but he was around when it mattered.
This is the case of Eli the dog. Eli and his handler, Lance Corporal Colton Rusk. Rusk was deployed soon after his twentieth birthday to serve as a marine dog handler, and Eli was the dog he served with. According to all reports, the two were inseparable. The two had the dangerous task of walking ahead on patrols looking for dangerous explosives. Their job was dangerous but vital to the war effort. Without the efforts of these brave individuals, there would be a lot more casualties on the front.
This story does not end well, and Rusk's family was left with grief when the worst happened. The day Colton Rusk gave up his life for his country, Eli was there and would not leave his side. Eli was inconsolable, as was Rusk's family. In the midst of the tragedy, the two parties looked to each other for comfort. Eli would never patrol with his handler again, but when he was adopted by Rusk's family, the war dog took on a new assignment. From then on, he would take care of Rusk's family during the difficult times that surely lay ahead.
