The 40-Year-Old Virgin Dog Names

 Jay was found abandoned in Battle Creek, Michigan. She had a weighted chain tied to her neck that was causing abrasions and sores. She had also clearly been abused. Jay's rescuers could tell that the dog had been used in dog fights, likely as bait to train other dogs before a fight. However, once she was found, that life was in the past. 

Jay was taken in by a group who trains dogs to help kids who have anxiety. The idea is that being around a dog's calming presence will help kids also become calm and curb any nervousness they may have. Jay began her new training and was doing fantastically.

Then came Kristy Grimes, a mother who was looking for a dog to help her son, William, deal with his anxiety. Kristy saw a photo of Jay and arranged a meeting with the dog and her son. The second Jay saw William, she immediately started licking his face and the rest was history. The happiness exuding from the dog was overwhelming and Kristy knew this was the dog for her son.

Kristy's son suffers from severe anxiety, going so far as avoiding all other kids in fear that they won't talk to him. Kristy's mother had also just passed away so she knew a special dog would help get William through the tough times. Her hope is that Jay will teach William that even when things get scary, you can rise above it and be happy. Of course, Jay is the perfect example of this philosophy - going from being tied down and injured to becoming a loving family pet that is truly needed by a little boy.

Even when humans turned on Jay, she did not change her positive attitude and rose above it all. She is proof that dogs are inherently good and can make major changes when they are just given the chance. Jay will be quite happy for the rest of her life and the Grimes family can guarantee that!
