Step Brothers Inspired Dog Names

Alice Huff is Nancy's daughter-in-law. She is married to Brennan's brother Derek. Derek is the epitome of responsibility, at least in his mother's eyes. Derek owns his own company, and he is, at times, a little more than domineering where his immediate family is concerned. We meet Derek and Alice as they are traveling in the family car. They are singing - in the round, no less - a rendition of the 1980s classic "Sweet Child of Mine." Of course, one of Derek's children takes voice lessons, so Derek gives this child an important part to sing. However, when Alice joins in, Derek is a little hurtful in his critique of her singing. The viewer understands that this is a pattern of behavior for Derek, and his later treatment of his brother only causes the audience to have even more disdain for this character. 

While Alice of the Step Brothers movie may be unappreciated at times, there is one Alice who fully understands. Alice the dog once lived a tough life. She was dumped on the side of the road with her siblings shortly after she was born in St. Louis, MO. She and her litter mates were rescued and taken to a shelter. From there, Alice and one of her brothers were taken to a place called the Animal Protective Association. Volunteer Jennifer Blome carried Alice with her to be featured on a local television show. Alice stole the heart of a viewing family, who requested adopting Alice. She has been with them since she was about three months old, and they helped her to become an entertainer. 

In December 2010, Alice was invited to attend some Christmas programs at a local retirement home. She performed a few of the tricks that she had learned at the time, and Alice was a hit. Beginning in 2011, Alice began putting on her own shows. She performs a number of tricks, some individual to Alice. Her family says that many of these tricks are Alice's idea, and because of this, they began to call her "Alice the Thinking Dog." Alice now works as a therapy dog. She often visits children's units in local hospitals, and she makes extra effort to visit children who are fighting cancer. In her free time, Alice loves to chase birds or squirrels (her breed is unknown, but it is likely she has some instinct to hunt). She lives with her adopted sister pooch, an Australian Shepherd.
