Introduction

This indie platform game created by Derek Yu blew up to be this amazingly addicting video game with a massive following.  Released in 2008 for PC, then remade for it in 2013, it’s also available to play on Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, and most recently PlayStation 4. What makes this game interesting is that although it's a big older, it holds up very well, and is still just as addictive as it once was. With both single-player and multiplayer modes in the remake, Spelunky managed to surprise the world. No wonder you want to name your dog after this game!

Spelunky Dog Name Considerations

There are a few things to consider when naming your dog. You could take into account his or her size, appearance, likes and dislikes, favorite toys, favorite treats, or hobbies. You could also consider the dog's breed, color and gender. The whole point of a name is to reflect something, whether it's trivial or more insightful. But it doesn't always have to be this way. After all, if you're rescuing a dog from a shelter, you may not know the breed, let alone the age of the dog.

If this is your case, never fear. That's why you're here! Spelunky names are what you're looking at for a reason. Maybe it's your favorite game, or you have fond memories you want to revisit whenever you call your dog. It could be as simple as wanting to name the dog after your favorite Spelunky character or place.

For instance, maybe the Yetis and Mammoths found in the Ice Caves really bring back memories for you. If you have a white, fluffy dog, then Yeti may be a perfect name! Or maybe you want to name the dog after the Ice Caves themselves, at which point, you'd have to be a little creative, playing with wording. Maybe something like Ice, Ice, Baby!
