SimCity 2000 Dog Names

SimCity2000 is a fun, city-building game that dates back to the early 1990s. Therefore, you might think that any names relating to the game won’t appear in pop culture. These following two dogs will prove that’s not the case. The names Sam and Camille relate both to SimCity2000 characters, and dogs in film.

In SimCity2000, Sam Armstrong is the city’s public safety advisor. He has many roles in the game. Firstly, he will offer you, the player, advice about fire safety and crime. You will also hear from Sam if you have not yet constructed a fire station or police headquarters.

What’s more, Sam’s job is to let you know whether you have too many people in prison or you are understaffed to care for your city. Sam’s role is pivotal in SimCity2000.

Sam, a dog in pop culture, is equally as important. Sam, or Samantha, is a German Shepherd that stars alongside Will Smith in the 2007 post-apocalyptic horror-drama film I Am Legend. The movie follows Robert Neville – an army virologist – and his dog Sam as they battle to survive and find a cure for a deadly virus that wiped out humanity in New York City.

The movie was the seventh-highest grossing film of the year, and it’s clear to see why. Sam’s bond with Robert was incredible. She remained by his side during the most trying times of their lives, always protecting him against the mutants that have the virus. 

Sam often finds herself in some tricky situations, such as when she follows a deer into a dark building – where mutants gather – and barely made it out alive. Sam’s luck ran out, however, and she ended up bitten and infected. When she started showing signs of mutating, Robert had to make the heart-breaking decision to strangle her to death. It’s not all doom and gloom though, for Robert finds a cure and sets about re-establishing the world.

Camille is another name that appears both in SimCity2000 and pop culture – and would make a beautiful name for your dog as a SimCity2000 fan. Camille Meadow’s role in the game is as an environmental advisor. If you do not strike a happy balance with your air and water pollution, Camille is the character to let you know. She also helps you learn more about your city’s environment.

In pop culture, Camille is the Van Dusen’s pooch in the 2001 film Hounded. Camille is a Pomeranian who hounds a teenager – acting all cute and lovely and following him home. However, once she arrives at the teenager’s home, she goes too long without her medication and begins destroying his house. The teen must then work hard to try and take Camille back home again.
