Silken Windhound Dog Names

With the newness of the Silken Windhound and they are not fully recognized by the American Kennel Club, they are not an easily recognizable breed. However, those that have discovered this interesting hound have fallen head over heels in love. One such Windhound is Beaux who resides in the United Kingdom with Hilary and Martin Tringham. Beaux, also known as Champion Kushbudar Chu Chulain, was the European Silken Windhound Club (ESWC) and International Silken Windhound Society (ISWS) Specialty Show Best Puppy and Best of Opposite Sex Puppy. These shows were held in Germany. Beaux also earned Best Performance at the Venture Hills Puppy Trials in 2014. Beaux started his show and racing career with a bang and continued to gain momentum in 2015 when he set a race record at the United Kingdom Silken Windhound Club (UKSWC) Oval Track Event. He was also a winner at the Venture Hills Straight Sprint and the Taunton Straight Flat Sprint. Beaux attended the UKSWC Scottish ISWS Specialty Show where he earned the title of Best Junior. That same year, he attended the UKSWC Lothian ISWS Specialty Show and won Best Junior and then Reserve Winner’s Dog; meaning he was the second best male at the shows. Beaux welcomed 2016 with a big win at the ISWS Hundseck Specialty Show by winning Winner’s Dog, Best of Winners, Best in Specialty Show, and Best in Show Bred By Exhibitor. He also competed at the UKSWC Lincs ISWS Specialty Show and won Reserve Winner’s Dog. In 2017, Tringham focused on lure coursing with Beaux and he was the British Sighthound Field Association (BSFA) Top Silken Windhound Lure Courser. In 2018, Beaux was back in the conformation ring at the UKSWC Kent ISWS Specialty Show where he won Reserve Winner’s Dog.

One of Beaux’s kennel mates, Tioga, is also making a splash in the show ring. Tioga, Morgandell Tioga, is an American import and is co-owned with Pengybrook and Endevor Silken Windhounds. As a puppy, Tioga won her puppy class at the ISWS Silkenfest held in the United States. Then, in 2015 Tioga debuted at the BSFA Lure Coursing and won Best of Breed. At the 2015 UKSWC Scottish ISWS Specialty Show Tioga won Best in Show. She then competed at the Hundseck ISWS Specialty Show and won Best in Show American Bred. Tioga continues to be a strong competitor and in 2017 and 2018, she won Best in Show American Bred four times at UKSWC ISWS Specialty Shows.
