About 15 million people call this country of 76,000 square miles home. A country like Senegal is sure to have plenty of unique name opportunities to take a look at, one of which may be just the one you are looking for.
Senegal Dog Names In Pop Culture
Saint Louis is a city located in northwest Senegal. Louis happens to be the name of a special dog who has gotten some media attention. The pup’s full name is Louis Vuitton, and he is a Pit Bull who had been terribly mistreated. The pooch is from Alabama and he was the key witness when the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles denied early release to Juan Daniels, who was sentenced for animal cruelty for what he did to Louis, who has burn scars from his head to his tail.
Louis was given his name in honor of Gucci, a dog who was tortured in Mobile, Alabama in 1994 which resulted in Gucci’s Law, which made animal cruelty a felony in the state. Apparently, Daniels hurt the dog, who was his mother’s, in anger when she said that he could not use the car. After the hearing, Louis received guests, who stood in line to pat him on the head.
Another dog named Louis was matted and in poor shape; in fact, when he came in for help he did not look much like a dog! Fortunately, he received excellent care and was shaved and bathed. After his bath and haircut, Louis look much better though he had some behavioral challenges. He would curl his lip if he did not like someone and he was skittish around people.
During his recovery, he was fostered by a woman named Mandy, whose father, Joe, suffers from dementia. As a result, Joe can become agitated at times. Mandy thought that her dad might be able to help Louis and that Louis might be able to help her dad. It turned out that she was onto something. Joe fell in love immediately and it appeared that Louis felt the same. Louis enjoys laying on Joe and cuddling and it seems that Joe likes it too. With Joe, it seems that Louis found love and comfort. And Louis helped to lift Joe’s spirts. Mandy reports that she has not seen her dad so happy in a long time. Not surprisingly, Mandy and Joe chose to adopt Louis. The pup is now full of energy and very happy with his family.
Senegal Dog Name Considerations
Choosing the right name for your canine buddy can feel overwhelming. If you are struggling to decide on a name for your new pal, don’t fret; you are definitely not alone. If you are seeking an original name that is a fit for your pup, one way to find possible options is to explore, at least virtually, a place that you find interesting. Choose a place that means something to you; perhaps you have lived there or visited (or hope to one day). Then, take a closer look at the place and see what ideas you find.
Take Senegal, for example. Located in West Africa, the country offers a myriad of cities, rivers, lakes, well-known people and unique food items. A little investigating (perhaps through a virtual tour) will bring to the forefront multiple name possibilities for your considerations. Take a closer look and see if one may be a fit for your pup. Dakar, for example, is the capital city and would be a very unique tag for a pup. Considering food, Caldou refers to a recipe made with fish, and suggests a cute name in which to honor Senegal.
With a name from Senegal, each time you call for your pup you will be reminded of the country as well as the unique food and landscape that it offers.
