Introduction
Samurai Jack Inspired Dog Names In Pop Culture
Sir Colin Bartholomew Montgomery Rothchild III is a sapient dog that Jack had the pleasure of meeting very early in his quest - during Episode II, to be specific. Rothchild, along with his friends McDuffy and Dreyfuss, was actually very polite to Jack, helping the displaced Samurai gain an understanding of the new world. It was Rothchild who told Jack that Aku - the evil Wizard that sent Jack into the future in the first place - had taken over Earth in his absence and spent the last few hundred years molding it into his liking. Aku also made Earth the central hub of the galaxy, explaining why there were so many strange alien creatures walking around the place. Rothchild and his friends reveal that they aren't aliens but are simply just descendants of common canines from their past and our present.
It's the canine archaeologists' search for answers that leads them to entreat Jack for aid; due to Aku's totalitarian policies, the dogs have been unable to unearth the secrets of their species' past. Rothchild asks Jack to help them achieve their goal so that they can improve life for talking dogs everywhere. Jack agrees to help them in their mission, leading to one of the series' most epic battles to date. Later on, in Season 5, Rothchild is revealed to be alive and well despite the 50 years that have passed. He's also sired a massive litter of talking dogs who all are just as into archaeology as their father and grandfather.
Samurai Jack Inspired Dog Name Considerations
Samurai Jack's beautiful art direction and ingeniously choreographed action sequences are two of the biggest contributors to the show's massive success. The sequences that Mr. Tartakovsky and his team of writers, animators, voice actors, and sound engineers constructed were excellent to the point of rivaling cinematic maestros like Akira Kurosawa, Hayao Miyazaki, Sergio Leone, and Jean-Luc Goddard. All of this from a children's show. But that's what made the show so popular - Mr. Tartakovsky didn't think of Samurai Jack as a children's show - he thought of it as a show with a lot of heart and a lot of action.
