Race to Witch Mountain Inspired Dog Names

The Disney film Race to Witch Mountain is packed with action, comedy and adventure. The film opens with a spacecraft crashing in the Searchlight, Nevada area, some 45 miles away from Las Vegas. A Defense Department unit, known as Project Moon Dust, shows up in helicopters at the crash site to search for those on board. However, they find the spacecraft empty, much to their dismay.

Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, an ex-convict named Jack Bruno is driving a cab as a means to make a living. He was previously jailed for serving as a getaway driver for a mob. His cab is hailed by Dr. Alex Friedman, a discredited astrophysicist who is in town for a UFO convention happening at the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Hotel. After dropping Friedman at the convention, he is confronted by two mob thugs, acting under the orders of mob boss Andrew Wolfe, who wants Bruno to drive for him again.

Bruno returns to his cab to find two teenagers in his cab, named Sara and Seth. They hastily offer him $15,000 to drive them into an unknown location. Even though he is wary of the two, Bruno agrees to take them to their destination. Sara points out that they are being followed and Bruno, thinking that those are more mob thugs, drives faster to try and evade their followers. A high speed chase ensues and Seth is forced to use his special skills to help the group get rid of the agents in pursuit.  

The siblings ask to be dropped off at an abandoned house and go on their own. However, Bruno decides to follow the two out of curiosity and concern. Sara and Seth discover an underground laboratory hidden in plain sight and retrieve the device that they have been searching for. Without them knowing, an alien assassin known as the “Siphon” follows and attacks them. Bruno helps the teenagers escape Siphon and end up in a small town, where they decide to kill time in a diner.

Sara and Seth come clean and explain to Bruno who they are and why they are being followed; the two are aliens who are trying to retrieve their spaceship and return to their home before they are killed. The agents show up in town and try to go after the group. The two demonstrate their powers, which convinces Bruno that they are telling the truth. While trying to escape, they also befriend a dog named Junkyard. As the agent follows them, Junkyard helps the group escape by biting Burke’s arm as he tries to shoot them. Junkyard then jumps into the cab and the group drives off.

The group meet with Dr. Friedman and ask for her help. They end up going to Witch Mountain, where the spaceship is located. After a battle takes place between the agents and the Siphon, the siblings were able to launch their ship and fly home. A few weeks later, it was revealed that Alex and Bruno work on a book regarding their adventures with the siblings. After signing autographs, the two ride away in a Mustang with Junkyard inside.
