Introduction
Prom Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
Lulu is a purebred Black Lab who was adopted by the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States (the CIA). She was enrolled in an intense training course where she would learn to sniff out bombs and explosive devices. Lulu started her training with other pups and, while she seemed to enjoy the classes at first, she started to become uninterested. Lulu's trainers kept working with her, putting the puppy through grueling 60 hour work weeks (don't worry, lots of rest and treats were built into each day!) but Lulu still just didn't care about sniffing out bombs.
The CIA trainers tried many different tactics with Lulu, encouraging her with treats, with attention, trying to make the training more game like but, you guessed it, Lulu still wasn't living up to her puppy potential. Since the CIA invests a significant amount of time and money into their bomb-sniffing dogs, they weren't about to just give up on Lulu. However, it was becoming more and more clear that the explosive searching life wasn't one that Lulu wanted. After several weeks of training, Lulu and her trainers all agreed that this was not the life path Lulu was set to run down. The CIA said goodbye to Lulu and wished her the best.
Her story, along with several pictures of the pup during her training, was posted on social media where Lulu gained quite the following. Not only were her pictures adorable (who can resist a Black Lab puppy with big brown eyes), but many could relate to her story. A dog who is bored at work and just wants to quit? Many probably feel the same way as Lulu within their own jobs!
The story about Lulu was also interesting as it was a rare look into the typically secretive CIA. While no secrets were given away, it showed that the government agency has a heart and a soft spot for dogs who would rather nap than work!
Lulu was quickly adopted and now lives in a home with another Black Lab and a few kids who keep her busy running and playing all day. If she feels like sniffing and tracking, she can chase rabbits in her backyard rather than look for explosives!
Prom Inspired Dog Name Considerations
Always consider what you will call your dog on a day to day basis. While the name Promenade sounds nice and fancy, it may be hard to say over and over. The nickname that is associated with your dog's name may be just as important as their real, full name. A shortened version of the name is something to consider!
With a wide variety of musical names that go along with the prom theme, you can think about your pup's background in association with the name you are considering. For example, a name like Salsa would be great for a dog with Spanish roots! Mardi would be perfect for a New Orleans mardi gras dog, too.
