Introduction
Prison Break is an American television series created by Paul Scheuring that changed the course of tv history. It follows the story of two brothers, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows in the Fox River State Penitentiary. Lincoln was wrongfully convicted for the murder of the vice president’s brother and put on death row, and Michael, a proper genius, tattooed the blueprints of the prison on his body in an attempt to break out with his brother. During their escape planning, they team up with other inmates, Fernando Sucre, C-Note, T-Bag, and Charles Westmorland, who is actually the famous thief D.B. Cooper!
Prison Break Dog Names in Pop Culture
Fernando Sucre is one of the most beloved characters from Prison Break. He was Michael’s cellmate when he first got into Fox River, and ever since then, they have been best friends. He is devoted to his girlfriend Maricruz and is doing everything in his power to get back to her arms — all in all, a great guy. And even better, he shares a name with one special dog.
Fernando the pupper was a dog with a keen eye for music. The entire town of Resistencia, the capital of an Argentinian province of Chaco, adopted him in 1951 on Christmas Eve. He is the protagonist of a famous song by the legendary Alberto Cortez, a singer-songwriter. So, on that fateful Christmas Eve so many years ago, the doggy showed up in a bar in Resistencia, seeking shelter from the storm outside. As fate would have it, he lay his head on the feet of the bolero singer Fernando Otiz who was just passing through the city and decided to adopt the dog and give him a forever home. Fernando became his official owner. However, the entire city loved the dog so much that they all wanted to be his family. Everyone wanted to feed him, invite him into their home, make him feel welcome, and spend as much time with him as they could. He won over their hearts, and he was a frequent furry customer in the bars and restaurants in the town.
He slept in the lobby of Hotel Colon, he had coffee with milk and a croissant each day for breakfast in the Nation Bank manager’s office, he went to the hairdressers, had lunch at the El Madrileno restaurant. He took naps and chased cats, and ended up having dinner in the La Estrella Bar. A proper city bird this doggo was! He never missed a musical performance. People of the city could always see him in concerts, parties, both private and public, as well as carnivals in the town. He always sat up front and enjoyed the smooth tunes. When the orchestra played, he sat by the soloists and wagged his tail in approval. However, if someone missed a note, he would howl and growl, and if the musician did not improve, he would just leave in protest!
Unfortunately, an irresponsible driver hit Fernando with a car. The entire Resistencia mourned him, and his funeral was the most significant the city had ever seen. Alberto Cortez immortalized him in his famous song Callejero, and town as the whole remembers the lovely pup as one of the most notable citizens they ever had.
Prison Break Dog Name Considerations
If you are re-watching Prison Break nowadays, you are probably in awe of just how well this show manages to incorporate twists, genius plans, and witty conversation that result in an addicting series you can binge on. Moreover, Michael Scofield is one of the most intelligent TV characters of all time, and undoubtedly one of the most creative ones when it comes to making escape plans. Naming your new pupper after him would do the character great justice, especially if your pup has beautiful blue eyes like Michael does, maybe if he is a Husky or another breed with genetically light eyes.
You can also opt for the name Fernando, after Fernando Sucre, Michael’s cellmate and best friend. Benjamin Miles C-Note Franklin is a prisoner at Fox River who got there because he was wrongfully convicted, and has four names your doggo can have: C-Note if they are musically inclined, Miles, Benjamin, and Franklin! Veronica Donovan is Lincoln’s former girlfriend who tried to find evidence that would exonerate him and has a fabulous name that can be your pup’s new moniker, and Sara Tancredi is Michael’s love interest and later wife who worked as a doctor in the prison infirmary.
