Prince of Persia Inspired Dog Names

We're featuring the Hunter Hounds from the early 2000's series here. Although, we heavily discourage thinking of the Hunters as cute little puppies that like chasing their tails and doing tricks. These guys are lean, mean war hounds that were trained to be capable of maiming and killing a man on command. The Prince encountered numerous Hunter Hounds throughout his journey during The Two Thrones. Even a warrior as skilled as the Prince, who we'd like to remind you is capable of manipulating time itself, was given a run for his money by these horrendous hounds. Just imagine what would happen if the average, untrained person were to encounter one of the Hunter Hounds. Want to know the saddest thing about it all? The Hunter Hounds were further twisted and corrupted by the villainous Vizier; before he crossed paths with them, the Hunters were just well-trained attack dogs. After he finished experimenting on them, the Vizier transformed the Hunters into things that simply aren't of this world!

Of all of their abilities, the Hunters' most dangerous power allows them to stop the Prince from manipulating time. They do this by draining him of the energy that he uses to bend reality in the first place - the Sands of Time. This is because the Hounds were partially imbued with some Sand themselves, attuning them to the supernatural and affording them some measure of control over it. One has to wonder if these creatures would be capable of manipulating time on a greater scale, were they not so bloodthirsty? Either way, players who encounter the Hunters should be wary of Hunter Hound packs - a large enough gathering of these beasts can quickly overpower the Prince and bring his journey to a swift and grisly end. Unfortunately, the Hunters serve as the most prominent canine characters in the Prince of Persia series thus far. Fortunately, they aren't the most prominent figures in all of Persian culture. that honor belongs to the benevolent Dog God, Simurgh. 

Simurgh is a divine being from Persian Myth that plays a huge role in a number of cultural stories. Simurgh also possesses a wide array of powers and unique traits that immediately sets her apart from any other dogs in the vicinity. For one, Simurgh is purported to be as massive as a house or even a mountain! Two, she's capable of complex thought and has used her wits to solve problems as often as she's used her supernatural strength. If the Prince had Simurgh watching his back, the Hunter Hounds wouldn't be such a huge threat. But then again, if the Prince had Simurgh watching his back the games would be rather short.
