Introduction
Preacher Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
The show, “Preacher,” has some scary characters, but it also has some angels. This pawesome pooch named Angel really earned her name. In January of 2010, the 18-month-old Golden Retriever was with her human friend, 11-year-old Austin Forman in the backyard of his home in Boston Bar, British Columbia just in time to save him from a vicious cougar attack. Austin was gathering wood in his wheelbarrow at about 5:30 p.m. when suddenly he saw Angel running away from him.
He started to call Angel back, and that is when he saw that Angel was fighting with a cougar that had been heading straight for him. Austin ran inside to tell his mother what was going on and Angel and the cougar ended up rolling under the deck of the house while fighting. Austin’s mom quickly called 911 while Austin watched the animals fighting from inside.
Luckily, Constable Chad Gravelle of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was close by and got there quickly. The constable used his flashlight to look under the deck and saw that the cougar has Angel by her neck, so he shot it in the behind to get it to let Angel go. But the cougar held on so he had to execute her to save Angel from being killed. When the cougar was pulled off of Angel, the pooch took a big breath of air and jumped up and ran into the yard.
The family rushed the hero pup to the veterinarian’s office where they immediately sent her to the animal hospital for surgery. She had a fractured skull and many lacerations on the head and neck. The operation lasted for a few hours, but the brave dog made it through with no problem. Austin said that he noticed his beloved pet following him and sticking close to his side all day long. The family believes that he must have known the cougar was around or had seen it lurking.
The funny thing is, the Formans were not even looking to have a dog in the first place. In fact, they did not really see how a pup could fit into their lives at the time. They only took her in because a friend that they knew was unable to care for her anymore. The family's good deed turned out to be a lifesaving one for their son Austin who now has a friend for life. It just goes to show you that doing something good usually comes back around to help you later.
Preacher Inspired Dog Name Considerations
When you purchase or adopt a new poochie, there are quite a few things you should get to make your canine kid’s transition easier. For example, a cozy bed to sleep in, fun toys to play with, chewy bones to help keep their teeth strong, a collar and leash to take walks, high-quality kibble, and tasty treats. You will also need to choose a good veterinary professional. Last, but definitely not least, your new furever friend will need a good title that fits them well.
Finding the right name should not be too hard. You just have to observe your pupster as they play or pay attention to their habits or quirks. In keeping with the “Preacher” theme, some fantastic monikers can be gleaned from the character list or the actors who play them. Fur instance, Cassidy means curly-haired in Gaelic and would be perfect for a curly-coated pup, and Earl means warrior in Germanic and would be great for a guard dog. Also, Adam is Hebrew for red and would be a super name for a red doggo. Julie, which means downy in French, is a pawesome name for a soft doggy and Tulip would be a fun name for any female pup.
