Introduction

Who would think that a dancing lemur (and his group of minions) could be as entertaining as those featured on the Dreamworks animated film the Penguins of Madagascar?  We know that lemurs tend to follow one another; is King Julien the perfect lemur leader? The movie and television series of the same name are the result of a spin-off from the highly popular Madagascar movie. The king lemur is juxtaposed with the penguins Skipper, Rico, Kowalski, and the very quiet Private. The penguins' story picks up shortly after the ending of the Madagascar 3 film, and viewers learn the origins of their favorite Antarctic natives.

Penguins of Madagascar Dog Name Considerations

The Penguins of Madagascar features animals that are typically found in the jungle or in other tropical climates. Of course, our freezing friends hail from Antarctica. Perhaps it is in the colder climates of the world that we should begin exploring breeds that would be best suited to a name inspired by the Penguins of Madagascar movie.

The Labrador Retriever finds their origins in Canada, an area which is rather cold. Several cold-climate areas near Canada - Greenland, Newfoundland, and Iceland - have produced dogs familiar to us today - the Great Pyrenees, Newfoundland, and Saint Bernard are just a few dogs that are built for the cold.

Dogs from a tropical climate might include the Chihuahua, a native of Central America (and later, Mexico) and the Havanese from Cuba. The Xoloitzcuintli is another dog from Mexico; their unique coat distinguishes them from other dog breeds. The Argentine Pila, Fila Brasileiro, and the Mucuchies are all native to Central America and would be suited to a Penguins of Madagascar inspired name.
