Introduction
Pattaya is a resort city in Thailand that is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand. Situated about 62 miles southeast of Bangkok, the city is included in the province of Chonburi and is at the center of the Pattaya-Chonburi Metropolitan Area, which is home to around one million people. What is considered “Greater Pattaya” takes up the majority of the coastline of Banglamung, which is one of Chonburi Province’s 11 districts. The city includes the larger northern section, as well as a smaller section to the south that includes the area east of Jomtien Beach. Pattaya offers plenty to see and do, along with a myriad of unique name possibilities, one of which may be perfect for your pup.
Pattaya Dog Names in Pop Culture
Buddha Mountain, also known as “Khao Chi Chan” and the “Laser Buddha” has been continuing to grow in popularity among tourists visiting Pattaya. The mountain has a unique shape that is the result of being mined for stone, which was used to construct the airport and local roads. The face left on the mountain was ultimately developed into the largest carved image of Buddha in the world.
Buddha is also the name of a 10-year-old Pit Bull who has overcome many challenges. The dog was found by a Santa Paula Police Department officer when he was lying by the side of the road. The officer took him to the Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center (SPARC) where staff took him to the emergency hospital. Diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy/neuropathy, the dog did not have the strength to use his back legs, a condition that will only get worse over time. He had also scraped his leg to where it was raw, either from being dumped or from having dragged himself to the road where he was found.
Fortunately, Buddha was able to recover from the scrapes and bruises he had, however, he required assistance with mobility. SPARC was given a gift of a donated wheeled cart from Eddie’s Wheels, which is a company that makes custom wheelchairs for dogs., which typically cost up to $600. Staff encouraged Buddha to try out his new wheels and with that encouragement and a lot of treats, Buddha was able to learn how to use his wheels and was able to start getting around. As he gains confidence and proficiency, Buddha will be able to interact more with other pups.
Called a gentle old soul, Buddha has been greeting and socializing with SPARC visitors and has worked as an “office dog”. Buddha’s next step was to move to a sanctuary, where he can receive medical supervision in a loving environment while waiting to find his forever home.
Another dog named Buddha has gotten social media attention as a result of his antics with his three-year-old best friend Siena. Known as “cutie and the beast”, the two-year-old Doberman and his human pal have gained online popularity as a result of the photos of them shared online. Siena’s mom, Tara Prucha, notes that while many consider a dog of the breed to be an unusual companion for a little girl, “Dobermans are also known as ‘Velcro dogs’. They really just want to be with their one human. And he has obviously chosen my daughter”.
The adorable pair are followed by more than 100,000 people, who enjoy photos of their adventures, whether sleeping together, playing the piano or painting nails, this special pair does everything together.
Pattaya Dog Name Considerations
While some people may have the name for their dog picked out before they meet their new canine pal, for others, deciding on a name can feel like an overwhelming challenge. When you think about it, the struggle to choose a name makes perfect sense; after all, you will be calling this name many times a day for years to come. Of course, you want the name to be one that you feel good about.
To get name ideas that are unique and that have some meaning to you, it can be helpful to think of a place that you care about or that you are interested in. You can then explore the place virtually in order to find some options for a moniker for your pup. Take Pattaya, for example. A resort city in Thailand, Pattaya is popular among tourists and has much to see and do. As you explore the city, take note of any possible names. Beach lovers, for example, can choose to name their pup Jomtien or Tawaen, after Jomtien or Tawaen Beach. Love to shop? Name your pup Mimosa for the Mimosa Pattaya shopping complex.
Regardless of which name you choose, a moniker from Pattaya will provide you with regular reminders of the resort city and all it has to offer.
