Introduction

The luchador - a Mexican wrestler both adored and misunderstood - is a coveted position in Hispanic culture. Always dressed in boldly colored outfits completed with a mask, the luchador is an elusive yet powerful figure. Ignacio, an individual who was raised in a local orphanage and still works there, wants nothing more than to be a wrestler, but the nuns at the orphanage forbid it. After being robbed, Ignacio decides to don the traditional mask of the luchador and wrestle in order to make some money. Ignacio is renamed "Nacho," and he does not let a few defeats discourage him from his dream.

Nacho Libre Dog Name Considerations

Nacho Libre is the story of Ignacio, an adult orphan who works to improve the lives of the young children living in the orphanage where he was raised. Ignacio is mesmerized by the idea of wrestling in the Mexican tradition. As a luchador, Ignacio isn't quite a success, but he begins to earn money that he can put toward further improving the lives of the orphan children around him.

Although there are no consistent canines featured in the film, one can find some doggy associations with the movie. First, many individuals associate the Chihuahua breed with Mexico. Certainly, there is a city in Mexico named for the dog that is said to have lived during the time of the Aztecs. Therefore, the Chihuahua is suited for a name from the movie Nacho Libre

Another dog associated with Mexico is the Xoloitzcuintli, also called the Mexican Hairless Dog. This dog's unique appearance makes them a stand-out no matter what. Christening them a name from the Nacho Libre film will only add to their extraordinary appeal.
