Medium Inspired Dog Names

The Medium television show is based on the life of real-life psychic Allison DuBois. Allison is a stay-at-home mom, but, she also lends her talents to the local (Phoenix) district attorney's office. However, Allison is still primarily a mom. Her three daughters - Ariel, Bridgette, and Marie - keep Allison on her toes. Ariel is the oldest, and she often gives Allison the most trouble. Bridgette is the middle child; she is precocious and asks a great deal of questions, particularly where her mother's occupation is concerned. Marie is the baby of the family (literally). Sofia Vassilieva plays the role of Ariel, Allison's oldest child on the television series. 

Sofia Vassilieva is a young actress who has played in a number of film roles, including her role on Medium as Ariel. Ariel often gave her mother the most trouble; while Ariel was not a troublesome child, she did question much of the world around her (including her mother's part-time work). At times, she can really try her mother, but Ariel has her mother's best interest at heart. 

When considering the name Sophia for a dog, the name appears to be quite popular among owners (a variation of Sophia, "Sophie" is also quite popular). One well-known Sophia is an animated pup who leads the fight against canine obesity. Sophia the Wonder Dog is the representative of the company Varsity Pets. Varsity Pets claims to be the "leaders of the Canine Fitness Revolution." Sophia the Wonder Dog is touted as an ordinary pet with something a little special. Sophia is meant to symbolize enthusiasm, vibrancy, a healthy lifestyle, and fun. Sophia the Wonder Dog is actually based upon the life of a real pup (and she great resembles the Papillion breed, although Sophia's specific breed is not known). Varsity Pets is an organization which promotes a healthy, active lifestyle for dogs. The experts working at Varsity Pets have developed "fitness concepts" which they believe will assist owners in providing the optimum fitness program for dogs and combating canine obesity. 

The name Sophia is also the moniker of a stuffed animal that is associated with the American Girl doll company. Another place one might see Sophia associated with a pup is a young girl (named Sophia) who has a diabetic alert dog. Any time Sophia begins to experience issues with her blood sugar, the dog can alert someone before Sophia falls into a diabetic coma.
