Introduction

Marvel Comics can trace its origins back to 1939, when founder Martin Goodman incorporated Timely Publications. Over time, the company morphed into Atlas Comics during the 1950s, and, by 1961, Stan Lee (along with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko) had acquired the company and renamed it Marvel. The company is known for its stock characters: Thor, the Hulk, Captain America, and many more. Heroes such as Captain America symbolize the values of the United States - bravery, valor, and heroic deeds. As time has moved on, the typical Marvel character has continued to symbolize what every child looks up to - brave people who do what is right, even when it is difficult.

Marvel Inspired Dog Name Considerations

Perhaps you, the owner, have always enjoyed Marvel Comics. Maybe you grew up watching the Spider-Man movies. Certainly, you might have noticed that your pup already has some heroic qualities. Marvel-inspired names will suit any breed of pup; however, some breeds might seem more suited than others.

First, dogs that are slated for some type of service might be most suited to carry a superhero's moniker. German Shepherds are often used in military and police work. Belgian Malinois are often used as "drug dogs" or are otherwise companions for police officers. These dogs are often quite heroic; they are known to be fearless in the face of danger. Some police dogs are anxious to participate in work alongside their human handlers. From time to time, these heroic animals give their lives in order to protect their fellow police officers (and, often, their handlers will have memorial services for those dogs who are so brave).

The Labrador Retriever is a dog that is often associated with working as a service dog. Golden Retrievers also work with the blind as service dogs. Sometimes these breeds are used as therapy dogs for hospitalized patients, particularly for children. Labs and Goldies are particularly good with young children. They are patient, and they seem to know that the children they visit are sometimes very sick. These service dogs are particularly suited for a heroic moniker due to their honorable characters.
