Introduction
Loyal Dog Names in Pop Culture
The guide dog would be swept away in the crash of humanity as everyone struggled to save themselves. Hingson sat alone waiting for the inevitable but he was surprised by a nudge on his leg and the feel of a cold nose. Roselle had returned. The dog refused to leave his said. Hingson again clipped on the leash and asked the dog to lead him. Together they struggled to the stairs and down.
A co-worker noticed the man and his dog as they tried to make their way to safety. The co-worker quickly started to help the duo. Together, the three of them made their way down 77 floors. The journey took them over an hour. Soon after they exited the building it collapsed. Roselle continued to lead her owner all the way to the subway station and safety. With undaunted loyalty, the guide dog had remained by her owner's side. Even when given the chance to run away and save herself she remained faithful to her beloved owner. Hingson believes that he would have died if it had not been for Roselle returning to help him.
The experience on 9/11 changed Hingson's life. He left his career as a computer person and instead decided to go to work for Guide Dogs for the Blind as the school's Public Affairs Director. No doubt, his experiences on that fateful day and the undaunting loyalty of Roselle are what spurred him to dedicate his life to the amazing guide dogs. Roselle passed away in 2011, but her owner wrote a book in her honor titled, "Thunder Dog: The True Story of a Blind Man, His Guide Dog, and the Triumph of Trust at Ground Zero".
Loyal Dog Name Considerations
Researchers often theorize why dogs and humans have such a close relationship but most agree it is because of the dog's nature. A canine lives in a pack society. The group must stay together in order to survive and ensure that future generations continue to thrive. All members of the pack work together to succeed. They hunt for food, raise their young, and defend each other through numerous ordeals.
When a dog is removed from its natural pack the animal's need for survival forces the canine to build new relationships with humans who become their pack members. That means that the dog naturally gives the humans loyalty. Most dog owners also know that the relationship they build with their pooch is not just about survival. It is genuine and heartfelt. Dogs and humans naturally love each other and feel a certain affinity for one another. The relationship that forms is based on trust, kindness, love, affection, and loyalty. Both parties remain loyal to another.
Canines have earned the spot of being man's best friend and the relationship should be treasured. In order to commemorate such a relationship, many owners wish to pick a name that shows loyalty or showcases a truly amazing pooch who is known to have an emotionally moving relationship with humans. Throughout history, many dogs are known for their unique brand of loyalty so why not pick a moniker that reflects the wonderful characteristic?
