Introduction
Officially the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Laos is the only landlocked country in Southeast Asia. The country is bordered by Myanmar and China to the northwest, Vietnam to the east, Cambodia to the southwest and Thailand to the west and southwest. The landscape of Laos includes thick forests and rugged mountains, as well as some plains and plateaus. The Laos government set aside 21% of the country's land area to preserve its habitat in 1993. Laos typically has a rainy season from May to November while December through April is considered the dry season. This lovely area is sure to provide an original tag for your new furry addition!
Laos Dog Names In Pop Culture
Major Lee Lou was a Laotian Hmong fighter bomber pilot known for flying more combat missions than any other pilot in Laos. In keeping with the Laos theme, Lee is also the name of a dog who received a lot of media attention after being left at an animal shelter in Houston with a note. A one-year–old Poodle, Lee was left in a crate in the parking lot of Harris County Animal Shelter in Houston over Memorial Day weekend with a note from his owner.
The owner’s note could bring you to tears and included the following: “ Can you please take care of my dog? He’s a great puppy, I just couldn’t afford to keep him. His name is Lee. He will listen, he will bark and will not bite. Please don’t put him down. I love him but can’t afford to keep him.” The owner also asked the shelter to “please care for him and find him a home”.
Lee appeared scared when workers found him; his fur was matted and he was covered in urine. Unfortunately, many other animals were left at the shelter over the holiday weekend, with 100 animals (cats and dogs) being left at the shelter on Friday alone. While the shelter is designed to hold 150 animals, after Memorial Day weekend, it had 375 pets waiting for adoption.
Harris County’s media specialist, Kerry Mckeel, stated that she believes that the recent increase in animal abandonment is due to the financial difficulties may in the area are experiencing as a result of damage caused by Hurrican Harvey. McKeel wound up taking Lee to her home as a foster placement, where she has experienced his smart, spunky and affectionate self.
The 1989 American action-comedy K-9 features a German Shepherd named Jerry Lee. A drug-sniffing police dog, Jerry Lee is a unique pup who works when and how he wants, leading to multiple gags as he and his new handler, a cop named Michael Dooley, played by James Belushi, attempt to take down a major international drug dealer who has tried to kill him. Jerry Lee is helpful in this effort, though creates chaos in other areas of Dooley’s life.
Laos Dog Name Considerations
Did you have a name picked out for your dog but when you brought them home realized that the name was not the right fit? Or perhaps you thought that once you brought your pup home, you would be able to decide on a name for them, only it turns out that you just can’t make up your mind. Deciding on a name for your pup can be a challenge and you may find that you need some help.
If you are looking for a name that suits your pup, it can help to take a closer look at a place that has meaning to you. For example, consider Laos, which is located in Southeast Asia. If the country is of interest to you, take a closer look at what it has to offer. You can explore its cities, towns, rivers, mountains, and well-known people as well as food native to the region.
