Kuala Lumpur Dog Names

Mont Kiara is an affluent township that is located northwest of Kuala Lumpur’s city center. An area that is home to many nationalities, Mont Kiara consists primarily of office space and condos. Kiara is also the name of an adopted pup who led rescuers through the bush and over two mountains in order to save the life of her 84-year-old owner. Called “the best dog ever”, Kiara was on a walk with her owner, Manfred Classen when he got lost near his home in Colo, about 100 kilometers northwest of Sydney. After he had not been seen for more than a day, his son, Lovell Classen, became very concerned. The only thing bringing him comfort was the hope that Kiara, an English Staffordshire Terrier, was with him.

After three days, with rescue teams combing the area where Classen had been reported missing, it was Kiara who saved his life by leading his son to him. Classen’s son explains that he had been calling for both his father and the dog, because he was not sure if they were together, but knew that they both were missing. He followed the dog, who sniffed the ground and followed a trail. She kept going and going and together they went over two mountains and down a ravine. By following Kiara, he found his father, who went to the hospital after the “adventure”.

Lovell stated, “My dad has had the dog for three to four months and the dog just absolutely loves my father…She’s been the best dog we’ve ever owned”. NSW Police were also impressed; according to Inspector Jackie Smith, “The dog was absolutely wonderful….It’s a first in my career, I’ve never seen anything like that before so a great story.”

Brickfields is a neighborhood of Kuala Lumpur with mostly Indian residents. Brick is the name of a Labrador Retriever who managed to survive when the boat he and his owner were on sank in rough seas. The pup was found alive in an isolated cove of an island of Southeast Alaska over a month after he and his owner, Greg Clark, were thought to have died.

Brick was found by two local fishermen on Heceta Island several miles from where the accident took place. The eight-year-old dog, who was underweight and had an injured leg, swam to the boat and “wiggled with joy” as he was pulled aboard. The close-knit community of mariners and loggers were shocked to find Brick alive; John Pugh, a friend of Clark’s, took custody of Brick and reported that he is “hungry as hell and a little skinny, but he’s doing alright”.
