Introduction
Kraven's Last Hunt Inspired Dog Names In Pop Culture
It's actually that last bit - the whole being a werewolf business - that's put JJJ III into Kraven's crosshairs on numerous occasions. You see, Kraven's already hunted every normal animal that one could possibly hunt, so he can only find a challenge by hunting mostly inhuman prey. Indeed, Kraven and John have faced off against each other numerous times over the years; most of the time Kraven has the upper hand only for John to find a way out of a sticky situation and live to fight another day. You've got to give the man credit, JJJ III is a resilient and determined individual if nothing else. Those two traits have helped him survive numerous threats that would've ended a lesser man and are the main reasons why he's been able to handle his lycanthropy for so many years.
John was first afflicted with lycanthropy many, many years ago - while he and his colleagues were on a mission to the moon. We hadn't mentioned it before but John's actually an astronaut - a profession that definitely calls for one to be tough and quick-witted. Anyhow, John and his fellow astronauts successfully landed on the moon without incident and proceeded to collect numerous samples of lunar debris. One particularly peculiar piece of debris caught John's eye - a crimson red gemstone that appeared to glow even on the dark side of the moon. The gem mystified John, who decided that he'd take the stone back to Earth despite it not being a part of his assignment.
With the help of his friends, John did exactly that. He proceeded to wear the stone around his neck until one day - during the night of a full moon - the gem was struck with moonlight while John was still wearing it. Before long, his bones were twisting and contorting, thick fur had begun to cover his entire body, and razor sharp fangs and claws sprouted out of John's body. For the first time, JJJ III would transform into a werewolf and stalk the streets as Man-Wolf.
A dog named John has made it into pop culture for his striking good looks; an American Bulldog from Australia has been dubbed John Travolta due to the uncanny similarities in their looks. Much more handsome than JJJ, Spidey, or Kraven this pup is deaf but has all the charm and love a prospective owner would want!
Kraven's Last Hunt Inspired Dog Names
This is due to the lengths writer J.M. DeMatteis and penciller Mike Zeck went to in order to paint these characters in a more complex light. Rick Parker, Bob Sharen, and Janet Jackson (not MJ's younger sister, mind you) also put in tons of effort to bring the story to life from a visual perspective. Suffice it to say that if you're a Spider-Man fan, Kraven's Last Hunt is a must read for you.
Fans of Spider-Man can consider Spidey, of course! And if your pup is into exploring and chasing, the tag Hunter will suit well. Niki is cute and pays homage to Nikolaevna. A chubby dog would wear She-Hulk well; the possibilities are many with this theme!
