Introduction
Justice League Dog Names In Pop Culture
Besides Wonder Dog, Krypto the Super Dog is another crime fighting canine who is closely associated with the Justice League by virtue of having ties with Superman and the House of El. As his name implies, Krypto the Super Dog possesses abilities similar to Superman's, with the added bonus of also possessing an enhanced sense of smell and hearing that has been said, on occasion, to even surpass Superman's senses in the same way that an Earthbound dog's senses of smell and hearing would surpass a humans. While Krypto is primarily affiliated with the Legion of Super Pets, he has helped the League out on numerous occasions, many times without Superman needing to ask him to do so.
There's also Ace the Bat-Hound, a dog that Batman intensively trained to serve as a high powered service dog. Ace is incredibly self sufficient as he can operate certain gadgets and tools without the need of any human assistance. Ace has also been trained in various martial arts styles and has been taught to incapacitate criminals and deliver them to the proper authorities by Batman himself.
Justice League Dog Name Considerations
Some of the most famous and beloved superheroes of all time are also members of the Justice League; fans of DC's Big Three (Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman), Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and the Martian Manhunter undoubtedly know about the League. Fans of the Justice League might want to consider naming their dog after their favorite League member by virtue of any similarities your pet might share with your favorite League member. For example, if you have a very friendly and outgoing dog who has a penchant for helping others, you might want to name them "Supes", Clark, or Kal after the Big Blue Boy Scout himself, Superman. If you've got a pet that's more reserved and withdrawn yet nevertheless stands by your side, consider naming them Bats or Bruce after the Caped Crusader, the Batman.
One can also count a few animals among the Justice League's ranks. Chief among them is Wonder Dog, a caped canine who is closely associated with the Super Friends (an off shoot of the Justice League created in the 1970's). In most depictions, Wonder Dog displays average intelligence at best and lacks any superpowers to speak off, but he nonetheless serves as a mascot to the Super Friends and, by extension, the Justice League.
