Introduction
Iron Fist Inspired Dog Names In Pop Culture
Dog loving Iron Fist fans will be happy to know that there's a very famous Beagle out there who shares a first name with the current and most well known Iron Fist, Daniel Rand. Daniel the Beagle is a dog with an incredible story behind him; long ago, when he was much younger, Daniel and 17 other dogs were put into a gas chamber. All of the dogs who were locked in that room perished by way of an inhumane death penalty - all of them except Daniel the Beagle, who miraculously survived despite only weighing 20 pounds.
Now a room full of carbon monoxide would be fatal even to a fully grown human adult, so the fact that a very young dog could survive such an ordeal was truly a surprise indeed. Daniel's miraculous survival of the events that transpired was so shocking that it caught the attention of Eleventh Hour Rescue, a dog rescue organization that's devoted to the cause of saving dogs that are on Death Row. Eleventh Hour Rescue took Daniel in and gave him a home with Joe and Geralynn Dwyers on November 10th of the year 2011. Since then, Daniel the Beagle has served as something of a mascot for the Eleventh Hour Rescue organization as well as a symbol of the perils that can arise from gassing animals. Daniel's Dream is an outreach program that was named after Daniel the Beagle that tries to rescue as many dogs as possible who are in a similar predicament that he was in before being rescued.
Surviving an encounter with such massive amounts of poisonous gas genuinely sounds like a feat that Iron Fist has pulled off numerous times thanks to the chi of Shou-Lao that Daniel Rand is able to manipulate. We believe that if the Immortal Iron Fist ever caught wind of this story, the martial master would be initially incensed to learn that dogs are being treated in such a fashion. However, we also believe that Iron Fist would be proud to hear of Daniel the Beagle's miraculous survival and test to see if the dog had any latent chi powers of his own.
Another famous dog who shares a name with the modern Iron Fist is an adorable Shih Tzu named Danny. Danny the dog is the star of a children's book created by Sid Shapira.
