Introduction
Invader Zim Dog Names In Pop Culture
The reason GIR takes the spot as the top dog of Invader Zim, however, isn't purely owed to his frantic personality; to remain undetected by the inhabitants of Earth, GIR dons a dog costume that has essentially fooled every character in the show, despite the suit having blatant stitch marks and a giant pair of fake googly eyes at the top. GIR's dog disguise is loved by fans of the show from all around the globe, as there have been many episodes in which GIR has spent a large portion of the episode, if not the entirety of a few episodes in his somehow incredibly effective disguise. One figures that the large zipper on the front of the costume's torso area would be a dead giveaway, but with the suit's uncanny ability to wag the fake tail and occasionally blink both of the googly eyes fastened to the head of the costume, GIR's subterfuge is much more effective than it ought to be.
A few other canine characters have appeared on the show aside from GIR, each with their own varying levels of significance to the overall show or a particular episode. Of particular note is Poop Dawg, who appeared on the episode "Door To Door" as a mascot for a school fundraiser that Zim and Dib had to participate in. Despite only appearing in one episode of the series, Poop Dawg left a big enough mark to lead die hard Invader Zim fans to quote him and his very poorly constructed rhymes whenever they get the opportunity.
Invader Zim Dog Name Considerations
The show's main character, the titular Invader Zim, is equally foolhardy as he is devious; he's a manic member of an intergalactic colonizing species who's positively over eager to prove himself as a genuine terror. Unfortunately (for him), Zim's often intricately laid out plans tend to get disrupted by some unforeseen circumstance. Other times, Zim's sheer over zealousness mixed with his rampant idiocy foil his own plans. And finally, the other manic characters who inhabit the Invader Zim world get in the way of Zim's plans for Earth. The show has no shortage of insane characters for you to name you dog after, so look for the one who most appeals to you.
