Introduction
Injustice Inspired Dog Names In Pop Culture
Ace made his first appearance in the Injustice world in the 17th issue of the Injustice 2 comics; this version of Ace is depicted as a small puppy that Batman and Plastic Man found in an Arizonian town that the android Amazo had recently destroyed. Batman and Plastic man decided to take Ace with them when they found the small puppy sifting through the wreckage of the town by himself. After the two heroes had concluded their mission, Plastic man give Ace to Batman, but the latter had no intentions to keep the dog and tried to find the puppy a home with one of the many other heroes that the Caped Crusader knew.
Though Batman was unable to give Ace away to any of the other characters he knew, he was ultimately able to find a caretaker for Ace by way of giving him to Alfred. Unfortunately for everyone, this joyous occasion would be cut short when a woman by the name of Athanasia Al Ghul, Batman's daughter in the Injustice comics, would tragically shoot Ace right in front of Batman and Alfred in order to get back at the two of them due to a misplaced sense of abandonment. It is currently unknown if Ace will pull through or if the poor puppy will succumb to his wounds.
Superman's crime fighting canine companion has also appeared in the Injustice world, albeit in equally small roles as the aforementioned Ace's; Krypto the Super Dog appeared in issues number 3 of the Injustice: Year Three. In this issue, High Councilor Superman dreams about the world that could have been, had the Joker not tricked him into killing Lois Lane. While envisioning an idyllic scene at the Kent Farm, Superman dreams of playing with Krypto chasing a baseball that's been thrown at an incredibly high speed as he spends time with his family.
Injustice Inspired Dog Name Considerations
Conversely, some fans of the Injustice series may have enjoyed the devilish liberties Netherrealm Studios took with the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman, and even Shazam. Take the Injustice version of Superman for example, he's the polar opposite of the classic Big Blue Boy Scout we all know and love. Where as the Justice League's Superman is compassionate, patient, and kind, the Injustice version of the Action Ace is a cold, ruthless dictator who's hated almost everyone, even many of his own subordinates. But if you're a fan who appreciates the way Netherrealm wrote Regime Superman as a character, consider naming your dog Councilor.
