Introduction
Fantasia 2000 Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
The 1947 film Banjo is about a young girl and of course, her beloved dog, Banjo. As any drama film tends to begin, the young girl, named Patricia Warren loses her father early on and not having a mother, Pat must move away to Georgia in order to stay with her aunt Elizabeth. However, Pat does not have to go alone as she is determined to bring her English Setter, Banjo, along with her. The two are completely inseparable and Pat can't bring herself to leave Banjo alone in the baggage area while she rides on the train. So, like any young and adoring pet owner would, she decides to ride with Banjo in the baggage car.
Upon the pair's arrival to Georgia, Aunt Elizabeth Ames is not at all pleased. You see, she is naturally egotistical and a bit vain due to being very wealthy and well to do; which of course sets up the perfect scene for an amazing dog to come in and change her heart. At first, Aunt Elizabeth will not allow Banjo in the house and remarks quite rudely on how unrefined Pat is. Elizabeth had recently broken off an engagement with a doctor in town and as an average adult with a distressed heart, negative energy was at the forefront for Elizabeth. This is why, instead of being in the house with Pat, Banjo had to live in a pen outside in the garden. However, no matter how high the walls were built, Banjo still managed to get out time and time again.
It wasn't until, after a series of events, Elizabeth decided that Banjo must be sent back to Georgia that the movie takes a serious turn. Distraught by the news, Pat runs away in the middle of the night to follow her beloved friend back home. When she arrives in Georgia, Pat goes through a swamp searching for Banjo. A bobcat attacks the young girl and all seems lost until Banjo runs in to save the day; fighting fiercely for his master's safety. Thankfully, one of Pat's old servants shows up just in time to shoot the bobcat, and with a change of heart after fearing for her niece's safety, Elizabeth comes to take Pat and Banjo both back to live with her. This story is a great example of a dog's devoted love to their family, no matter what the circumstances may be!
Fantasia 2000 Inspired Dog Name Considerations
Whether you have the smallest Chihuahua puppy or the largest Mastiff dog ever seen, you can find a Fantasia 2000 name to fit! This flexibility is because of the wide variety of elements that are applied to this theme; from instruments to different characters of the segments, there are so many beautiful, fun, and unique options to choose from. For instance, one of the more interesting options may be "Gershwin" who was a piano player featured in one of the segments. Another character would be "Yen Sid" (which is Disney backwards and the name of Mickey's master who shows up through the Fantasia series) or "Rhapsody".
If you would like to choose a name based on the personality of your dog, there are a lot of great options to consider, especially when it comes to analyzing the different types of instruments and their traits. For dogs that have a high pitched bark or love to talk, then perhaps a name like "Cymbal" or "Xylo" (short for Xylophone) would be fun monikers to consider. On the other hand, for quiet dogs or those who tend to be more graceful watchers of the world, names such as "Viola" or "Tuba" may be considered.
