Introduction
The Eurasier is a medium-sized spitz-type breed with a thick double coat and was originally bred in Germany. The Eurasier is a newer breed, coming into existence sometime in the 1960s and is thought to be the result of crossing the Wolf Spitz, Chow Chow, and Samoyed. This modern breed is aloof with strangers and is only tolerant of children and other pets in the home. Early socialization and training are important. Do not bring a Eurasier home if you are not an experienced dog handler. They are a low energy dog but do require significant training to ensure they are well-adjusted members of your household.
Eurasier Dog Names In Pop Culture
The Eurasier is a rare breed within the United States and most people are unfamiliar with the look and personality of the breed. Being a newer breed, the Eurasier is becoming more popular in Europe and breed enthusiasts in the United States hope that the breed begins to flourish within North America. Because of the newness of the breed, there are not many Eurasiers found in the spotlight, which is what makes Thugalot, or Thug, so impressive. Thug is formally known as Irish Champion Frionariz Darquiri To Mussendun. Thug spent many months in Ireland with Mussendun Kennels where he won Best of Breed 23 times and earned 15 Green Stars and one CACIB. The Irish Kennel Club (IKC) awards Greed Star awards which is a national certificate for that particular breed. Males and females that place first in each class then compete for a Green Star. A CACIB is a Certificats d’Aptitude au Championnat International de Beaute and is an international certificate that is awarded to dogs given an excellent grade. Thug has been graded as excellent in every Eurasier class that he was entered and easily won his IKC championship. After being campaigned in Ireland, Thug then returned to Frionariz Euraisers in the United Kingdom.
Sue and Bill Turner of Frionariz Euraisers boast several Euraisers that are relatively new to the United Kingdom. They boast the first Eurasiers imported into the United Kingdom. P’Diesel des Chevaloupsgreg avec Frionariz, or Diesel, and P’Astra des Chevaloupsgreg avec Frionariz, or Astra, were imported by Carol Davis-Tonge in April of 2000. They were bred by Veronique Foucault-Valy of Chevaloupsgre located just outside of Paris. When they arrived in the UK they were placed in quarantine in Manchester. Diesel and Astra came out of quarantine and moved to Ireland with Davis-Tonge. They became the first Euraisers registered with the Irish Kennel Club on April 6, 2002. The Kennel Club then added the Euraiser to their import register on October 1, 2003 and on October 30, 2003 Diesel and Astra became the first Eurasiers registered with the Kennel Club. On November 5, 2003 Davis-Tonge transferred Diesel and Astra to the Turners. Diesel and Astra became the first pair of Euraisers at Frionariz Eurasiers and their foundation sire and dam. Since Diesel and Astra have come into the UK, the Euraiser Society UK has formed and is promoting responsible dog ownership and breeding practices with the UK.
Eurasier Dog Name Considerations
The Eurasier is not the right dog for everyone. Without proper socialization and training, the Eurasier can become difficult to handle. They are aloof towards strangers and do take a while to warm up to people they just meet. Children and other pets should always be closely monitored when with a Eurasier, even if they are raised together. The Eurasier will learn to tolerate children and pets; however, they will expect to be top dog and do require significant training. Once you have decided to bring a Eurasier into your family, it may be a challenge to find a breeder since they are so rare within the United States. After your Eurasier puppy comes home, it will be time to start searching for a name. Being a German breed, there are numerous names with German influence that would be ideal for your new puppy. Take the time to get to know your new Euraiser puppy before settling on a name. For instance, Baret means having the strength of a bear, and the Eurasier is a strong dog. Griswold means grey ruler or wise ruler and Grimwold means intelligent ruler, both good choices for the dog that desires to rule the household.
