Another dog you may like to name your new pooch after is Voldemort. Voldemort, or Lord Voldemort, gets his name inspiration from the J.K. Rowling Harry Potter book series and the subsequent Warner Bros films that follow. While this dog bears no resemblance to the evil wizard in the books and movies, he does fit the bill as having a dog name that starts with Vo.

Voldemort was a Blue Fawn Greyhound owned by Heather Collins in New South Wales. His breeder, Hallinan, used the sire Malfoy (another Harry Potter character) and Al Fresco, to breed him in 2006. What’s interesting is that even though his dad has a Harry Potter name as well, none of the other ten puppies in the litter do.
