Dog Names that Start with Ke

Sometimes you can read a book or story that casts a  dog in some unusual, and even unbelievable, circumstances suggest amazing talents and skills they possess.  We are sure you have read some of those works of fiction, but we have found so many more touching and heart-wrenching tales which are not fiction and deserve mention when you consider the abilities certain canines possess.   

Kelsey, our pop culture spotlight for today, is one of those lovable and loyal pets who became a hero on New Year's Eve night in 2016.  It seems that her owner, Bob, was watching football on TV while waiting for the New Year's ball to drop, an event celebrated by millions of people worldwide enjoy annually.  He decided he needed another log for the fire and thought he'd quickly slip outside to retrieve one and get back to his football game without missing much of it.  Dressed in his long john jammies and slippers, he exited the house, descended the porch steps and headed down the walk to the wood pile.  That's when disaster struck - he slipped on the ice, falling hard, breaking his neck.  Unable to move his arms or legs, all he could do was call out, but his closest neighbor was about a quarter of a mile away.  The only being who heard was Kelsey, his beloved Golden Retriever.  She immediately ran to his side, lay upon him and kept licking his face to keep him warm and alert.  She barked the entire time in an attempt to get help for her master - and she did this for about twenty hours!  She never left his side or stopped her actions, even trying to help the paramedics when the neighbor happened by around 6:30 the next evening.  

Fear not, let me tell you about the happy ending to this sad tale. Kelsey kept her owner from freezing to death, even preventing frostbite to set in.  Bob, treated at the local hospital where a surgeon was able to operate on the affected vertebra, and reduced the pressure on the spine, fully recovered.  What a girl!
