Dog Names That Start with Je

Raise your hand or paw if you love a Jack Russell Terrier. And all the hands and paws go up! If you already know about Jesse, then you’re probably a huge fan. If not, you’re very welcome for introducing you today. Jesse is an 11-year-old Jack Russell, but by the looks of his energetic lifestyle, you’d probably guess that he’s much younger. His owner, Heather Brooks, has had Jesse since she was 16 years old and says that the two fall more in love every day. She got him for her birthday, and she even says that Jesse taught himself his first trick: how to sit up.

In the time they’ve spent together, Jesse has learned over 400 tricks! Unbelievable. He can jump rope, ride a skateboard, push a shopping cart, blow bubbles, walk on his front paws alone, and many more fun things like that. He’s also practical with his tricks. He can take out the garbage, wipe the floors, check the mail, load the dishwasher, and pick up his toys. Basically, anything we can do, he can do better (or at least he’s cuter while doing it). Heather loves working with Jesse and teaching him new tricks; she says it brings them closer together all the time.

Some of his favorite food and treats are cheddar cheese, hot dog pieces, lunch meat, and cooked chicken with rosemary and oregano. The boy knows what he likes! He also likes jerky, which makes sense for a name in this Wag! guide. Ever met a dog named “Jerky?” Me either. Maybe you could use that! She uses a training method called “capturing” as well as a clicker to teach Jesse his tricks. Whatever she’s doing, it’s working. He’s sensational, and he always looks like he’s having the best time.

Jesse likes to be on the go. He can ride on a rocking horse, ride on a scooter, walk on a ball, and even drive a motorized car by pressing a pedal with his back foot. His “Useful Dog Tricks” video has gotten over 17 million views, and he’s inspiring dogs and dog owners all over the globe. We’d like to thank Heather for putting footage of her adorable buddy online for all of us to see. He’s appeared with Letterman twice and with Rachel Ray. He’s even starred in films. Best of all, Heather and Jesse have raised thousands of dollars for pet shelters over the years. We say, keep it up, you little stud!
