Introduction
Dog Names Meaning Desire in Pop Culture
Jasmine, which is a wonderful smelling flower, is also a flower associated with desire or love. This name definitely fits the Greyhound who was found in a shed in England in 2003 by a police officer. She was starving and abused, but lovable and sweet, and the police officer decided to take her to Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary, who take care of injured or abandoned animals. Geoff Grewcock, who runs the sanctuary was amazed at this dog’s sweet disposition and her desire to help other animals in need.
Typically, animals that are abused do not take well to people and can even become vicious or mean. However, Jasmine was anything but mean. Although she was a bit wary of humans at first, for obvious reasons, one thing she seemed determined to do was to take care of other animals at the sanctuary. In fact, during her five years at the shelter, Jasmine was a mother figure to more than 50 animals including badgers, guinea pigs, a fox, rabbits, and her favorite was Bramble, the roe deer fawn that was found almost dead in a field.
This dog had such an amazing motherly instinct that she was able to put any animal at ease. When new animals would arrive, Jasmine would greet them with a nudge and a lick, cuddling with the little ones who were scared and hurt. She had even befriended an owl and several species of birds that she let perch on her head or nose. Although Greyhounds are bred to hunt rabbits, Jasmine was anything but a hunter, cuddling up on a couch with a lop-eared rabbit and several guinea pigs. Jasmine didn't have a mean bone in her body, according to those who had the pleasure to meet her. Unfortunately, Jasmine passed away in 2011, but her memory lives on at the sanctuary.
In fact, even after the passing of Jasmine, her legacy continued at the Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary with all of the huge donations to the shelter. Those who heard about Jasmine, even those who never knew her, donated money to the sanctuary, which continues to help care for abused and abandoned animals in need. Even though she is gone, the facility believes that she has taught many other animals and people, the true meaning of unconditional love. The kind of love that it takes to care for an animal or another human being. Without Jasmine, many of the animals who came to the shelter may not have made it, and some of them have picked up Jasmine’s incredible ability to care for others in need.
Dog Name Meaning Desire Considerations
What is it about your pooch that makes you think of the word desire? Is your furry friend always desiring to jump the fence to chase the neighborhood cat? Or maybe you just like the name Desire? Could it be that you want to give your dog a name that shows how much you really care for your little companion? Does it have something to do with your dog’s personality or attitude? Some people just see their dog and immediately think of a name that fits them, but the rest of us need to take the time to think about it.
After all, your pooch is going to be around for many years, so you want the name to fit them no matter how old they get. And you do not want it to be something so embarrassing or offensive that you are afraid to call them in from outside. Do you really like chocolate or pancakes? Those are a couple of cool names for dogs. If your dog is furry, you may want to name them something that reminds you of them like a teddy bear or bunny. If your dog is really tiny, you could choose to use that as a guide, naming them Teensy or Button. Just choose whatever you think fits your dog, and you can't go wrong.
