Dog Names Ending in ya

The first pup named Maya is a small dog who jumped out of a car in the middle of a busy Canadian freeway. Maya's excursion was caught on tape and the video went viral. The dog can be seen darting around moving cars, escaping from anyone who tries to catch her and wreaking havoc on the rush hour traffic.

Maya was finally caught after motorists created a barrier, preventing cars from passing as several people chased Maya into safety. The dog remained unharmed and was loaded back into her car. The little dog certainly made a big impact on that traffic pattern! 

Another pup named Maya who became a local celebrity was a two year old Japanese Akita who was on vacation with her family. Maya's owner needed to be rushed to the hospital for emergency appendix surgery. While her owner recovered, Maya refused to leave the hospital grounds, waiting patiently by the door for her owner to come out. While the family tried to take the dog home, Maya refused. She needed her owner! 

While Japanese Akita's are known for their loyalty, Maya took it to a whole new level and ended up waiting outside the hospital doors for six days. The hospital posted on their social media page about Maya and her eternal patience and devotion. It was as if she could sense what was happening inside the hospital walls and she was proving that she was a committed member of the family.

Maya's owner made a comment to the local papers saying that Maya always waits for her. If they go to a store, the dog sits outside and waits. Maya's owner was released from the hospital and, of course, her amazing dog was right there to greet her at the door! 

The last dog named Maya in the news is a beautiful Husky sled dog who helped lead a rescue boat after a Hurricane in North Carolina flooded the streets. The picture of Maya in her boat with the other rescue workers went viral and proved that everyone should be able to help each other - even dogs!
