Introduction
Dog Names Ending in 'pa' in Pop Culture
When picking a dog name, it is fun to look at famous dogs who have similar names and the amazing stories behind those pups. Maybe this story will inspire you to name your dog Pippa or maybe even Vespa. Take a look!
On a faraway island in Australia, there lived a small terrier named Pippa. Pippa lived with her owner and a gaggle of other dogs and pets where they led a pretty secluded life. Kai Hansen, Pippa's owner, moved to the island of Goat Island Lodge to get away from city life and he sure did. With very few people around, the area is very rustic and untouched. On this part of the globe, that means it isn't rare for a crocodile to pass by. In fact, that is exactly what this story is about - Pippa and the crocodile. When Pippa first arrived in the neighborhood, she immediately started running toward a crocodile that lived in the lagoon next to the Hansen's house. Mr. Hansen tried to stop Pippa but he likened the dog to a kid who wouldn't stop chasing cars. He just couldn't control her, she needed to chase the crocodile.
However, what was amazing was that Pippa was never intimidated or snapped at by the croc. Instead, the crocodile would see Pippa running toward it and run away. A little terrier was able to scare a massive croc! And the little dog kept at it, barking and taunting the croc for over ten years! Unfortunately, in the end, the crocodile won. However, while the crocodile may have beaten Pippa in the final round of their decade long fight, that little dog gave that big croc a run for his money! Pretty impressive, Pippa.
Another famous dog with a name ending in "pa" is Vespa, the two-legged Chihuahua in Texas. Born without her two front legs, Vespa has a customized scooter to ride around on every day. Vespa has learned to push her self around (quite quickly) and acts just like any other dog when they are let out to run.
When not attached to her scooter, Vespa can easily stand on her back two legs and hop, very similar to how a kangaroo looks! Vespa's success despite her disability is thanks to her amazing vet who works with her to stretch her legs and trained her to ride on her personalized set of wheels. You may have guessed it but Vespa got her name thanks to that awesome Vespa-like scooter that she uses. Seems like a perfect name for this lovable little dog.
