Dog Names Ending in 'g' in Pop Culture
Our first featured famous dog with a name ending in 'g' in pop culture is Devil Dog. He is the main character in the made-for-television movie The Hound of Hell. This innocent little German Shepherd puppy was acquired by the Barry family after their old dog died accidentally. They got him from what appeared to be a friendly fruit vendor but who was in actual fact a satanist who is said to have bred the dog during some sort of evil ceremony. The evil ceremony resulted in the pup being possessed! Apparently the satanists made these dogs available with the hope that good will be overcome by evil once and for all. Needless to say, the dog begins to act strangely shortly after they bring him home ... people start dying and weird "accidents" or "near accidents" begin occurring. As time goes on, even the families souls are invaded by evil spirits and the hound controls them, they also begin to act strangely. One family member finds a shrine to Satan in the attic and decides that the dog has to go. After an attempt to shoot the dog is unsuccessful, another way to neutralize it is found and the family's souls are rescued. But ... one of the children points out that the fruit vendor had nine puppies for sale ... it's not over yet!
Our second featured famous dog with a name ending in 'g' in pop culture is White Fang. He is a wolf-dog hybrid who was born in the Upper regions of the Yukon in Canada. He is the lone survivor of a litter of five puppies, the other four having succumbed to starvation in the brutal frigid famine into which they were born. His father was killed in an attempt to get food for him and his mother, leaving the two alone. White Fang and his mother are found and taken in by some Native Americans, one of whom recognizes White Fang's mother as being the dog owned by his now deceased brother. He takes them and separates them for the first time in White Fang's life. White Fang is owned by several owners and he is trained to fight, becoming quite vicious, being bullied and never being accepted by the dogs in the Indian tribe. He becomes quite the fighter and is promoted in the fighting ring. He defeats all of his opponents until be comes up against a Bulldog, who nearly kills him. He is rescued and ownership is again changed as is his life. He now has a home which is civilized, something he has never learned to accept. Through patient and lengthy work and training, trust is built, followed by love and loyalty, and White Fang is domesticated and civilized, even being brought to California to live with his last master, his transition from nature to civilization now complete.
