Man-Wolf has quite a few things in common with Doc Ock and there are quite a few things that set them worlds apart from one another. In terms of similarities, both Man-Wolf and Doc Ock are incredibly old characters (in terms of their publication histories) who have very complicated relationships with the Amazing Spider-Man. Both men want to do some good in the world but have often found themselves on the wrong side of the law and both Doc Ock and Man-Wolf have fairly tragic backstories that don't justify the times they've committed crimes but at least offer some context as to why they have done what they've done.
