Danny Phantom Inspired Dog Names

While Danny never officially owned a dog throughout the duration of the series, there was one small green spectral hound hound that Danny cared for during the episode "Shades of Grey." This ghostly canine's name was Cujo (whose name was no doubt based off of one of Stephen King's horror stories,) and he had many powers and abilities similar to Danny's; Cujo could become intangible, invisible, and levitate to the same degree that Danny could, allowing him to walk through walls, disappear, and fly as well. Cujo also had a few abilities that were unique to him as well; being a dog, Cujo's senses of hearing and smelling were incredibly keen and the spectral hound also had the ability to become larger and physically stronger whenever he got upset (effectively allowing him to "Hulk out" as it were.) Cujo could also teleport certain distances and he possessed the uncanny ability to tell whether another ghost was strong or not. For a cute dog who was just looking for someone to to play with him, Cujo's skill set was quite impressive. But Cujo also had a number of talents that he picked up during his life time, in addition to the ones he picked up afterwards. 

Back in his heyday, Cujo used to serve as a guard dog for the Axion Labs corporation. During the episode "Shades of Grey" it was implied that Cujo picked up a number of useful skills throughout the duration of his tenure as a guard dog. His past as a guard dog was also implied to have been the reason for Cujo's protectiveness of Danny and his friends. All in all, Cujo was just an adorable pup who wanted to play and be loved by a master. But, being a ghost with extraordinary potent powers , Cujo's playfulness had a way of wreaking havoc for others. 

One of the unfortunate souls who was heavily impacted by Cujo's playfulness was a girl by the name of Valerie Gray. When Valerie first appeared on the show, she initially seemed to be just another popular girl who got a rise out of insulting Danny and his friends. But when Cujo's playful antics inadvertently caused Valerie's father to lose his job at Axion Labs, the girl became hardened and began to develop a deep hatred for ghosts as her life began to crumble around her. Valerie would go on to become one Danny's most dangerous opponents, all because of the butterfly effect of one dog's actions.
