Introduction

Nickelodeon, often shortened as “Nick”, is a television network that owns the distinction of being the first ever cable channel for children. Launched on December 1, 1977, Nickelodeon is currently available in approximately 92 million households in the United States Alone. Because of their longevity, it comes as no surprise that Nick has produced some of the most popular cartoons today. One of the more memorable shows to be aired on the network is CatDog. The show, which was created by Peter Hannan, first aired on April 4, 1998 and shows the life of a hybrid cat and dog who are conjoined in the body, without any hind legs or tails. Cat and Dog have contrasting personalities, which usually causes some disagreement between the two, but they are each other’s closest friend and share a brotherly love.

CatDog Inspired Dog Name Considerations

Aside from actually having a new friend and companion, one of the thrills of getting a dog is picking out the perfect name. Maybe you already have a name in mind even before you get your pooch or you are still undecided a couple of weeks in. After all, choosing a name is an important part of being a dog owner and the choice you ultimately make will be permanent. A good approach to selecting a moniker for your pooch is to draw inspiration from pop culture or other famous characters.

If you grew up watching the cartoon CatDog on Nickelodeon and would like your own dog to have a name based on the show, one way to go would be to pick a name from one of the canine characters. Obviously, the most famous canine from the show is Dog, the other half of the titular character. There is also the gang called Greaser Dogs, composed of three street dogs who like to bully CatDog. However, you need not focus on just the dogs in the show; you may also go off on your personal preference and pick your favorite character’s name. For instance, if you enjoy watching the antics of Winslow T. Oddfellow, then you may opt to give this name to your dog.
