Introduction

Disney's Pixar hit film Cars depicts the story of rookie race car Lightning McQueen. Lightning is up against two veteran cars for the coveted Piston Cup trophy: Strip Weathers (also known as The King) and Chick Hicks. Lightning is young and slightly arrogant, but much of this attitude has to do with the constant attention from the paparazzi. Lightning feels a lot of pressure to win, but, when he is sidetracked in Radiator Springs, Lightning learns the value of friendship and real loyalty. Under the tutelage of former Piston Cup winner Doc (who is also the town judge), Lightning learns that his friendships are much more valuable than any trophy.

Cars Dog Name Considerations

Cars  draws fans of all kinds: boys who love race cars (and their parents, of course), and girls who appreciate the friendliness of Sally both enjoy the Disney Pixar film. Little ones might desire to have a little influence on the name of a new pup, and a Cars-inspired name just might fit. As with all little ones, for them, naming a new dog after one of their favorite Cars characters will not be influenced by the breed. This means that any breed is suited to a Cars character name.

Since, Cars is inspired by the sport of racing, dogs that have traditionally been known for their penchant for speed might be suited to a Cars-inspired name. The Greyhound is a dog known for its record-breaking speeds. The Whippet is also known for its great speed. In fact, the Whippet can meet speeds of at least thirty-five miles per hour. However, there are some surprisingly fast dogs that aren't necessarily found on the race track. The Viszla is a quick-footed hunting dog. He has been known to reach speeds of more than twenty miles per hour. Another very surprisingly fast pooch is the Great Dane, whose long limbs push him to thirty miles an hour.
