Introduction
Captain Underpants Inspired Dog Names in Pop Culture
George, also known as Giant George, is a record holder. In fact, he is in the Guinness Book of World Records. George actually had two records in the book, which were the “Tallest Dog Ever” and the “Tallest Living Dog.” At 43 inches tall, the huge Great Dane was the tallest living dog from February 22, 2010, until September 13, 2012. He beat the previous record holder; another Great Dane named Titan, who was 42.25 inches tall. Then it was Zeus, another Great Dane (surprise!) who was 44 inches tall. These are some giant pooches.
George, who was owned by David Nasser, was born on November 17, 2005, and passed away on October 17, 2013. George and David lived in Tucson, Arizona and they appeared on many news shows and were even on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in February of 2010. When they traveled to Chicago for the show, George had to have a whole row of three seats on the airplane to accommodate him, and there was a bit of a commotion on the flight due to all the people wanting to take selfies with him. The captain had to turn on the “fasten seatbelts” sign so the people would sit down.
When they got to Chicago, George and David were greeted by a huge crowd at the airport with flashing cameras and videos taping. David said there were more than 100 people there with cameras and phones taking videos of his big pooch like he was on the red carpet. Then they were whisked into a limousine to be taken to the Governor’s Suite at the Omni Hotel. Being from Arizona, George and David were excited to see that it was snowing that day and they played out in the snow for a while until they realized how cold it was.
At home, George had his own queen-sized bed, and one of his favorite hobbies was riding around his neighborhood on a golf cart. The behemoth consumed a whopping 110 pounds of dog food every month. The gentle giant was not just a record-holder though; he had his own following on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. He even had a book written by David and published by Grand Central Life & Style about him called, “Giant George: Life with the World’s Biggest Dog.”
George was just a big pup from the start and although he was not allowed in the puppy section of the dog park when he was “little,” he had furiends of his own who were not afraid of him. This huge hound was four years old when he won the title in Guinness and lived to be almost eight, which is a good long life for a pooch of that size. He was one month away from his eighth birthday when he died, but he still has his own website and Facebook page.
Captain Underpants Inspired Dog Name Considerations
Some people already have their pooch’s name picked out before they even pick out their dog. However, to make sure your pupster’s title fits them, it is a good idea to take the time to get to know them first. You may discover some adorable habit or trait that your canine kid has that would translate into a pawesome pup name. For instance, if your doggo likes to play tricks, you could name them Trixie, Antix, Hoax, or Prank. And if you have a funny pup, you could name them Giggle or Snickers.
In the “Captain Underpants” movie, there are some pawfect names for dogs among the character and actors list. For example, Knucklehead, which is the name of the football team, would be a cute name for a goofy pup and Crackers, Ook, or Gluck would be fun names for any pooch. Similarly, Sugar is a perfect name for a sweet dog, McPiggly suits a chubby pup, and Tizzy is adorable for a pupster who doesn’t like to be messed with. Alternatively, you could choose Coco for a brown furbaby or Baby for that petite pup. And Booger, Pippy, or Waffles would make funny names for any canine kiddo.
