Cambodian Razorback Dog Names

Cambodia is a country that is sometimes described as magical. Visitors to the region can have a once in a lifetime trip as they visit sites like the Temples of Angkor and see cultural specialties like artisans at work. A young fan of the Columbus Bluejackets hockey team, and in particular, the player Cam Atkinson, attended a game on her birthday. She was told by her father that if her favorite player (number 13) scored a goal in the game, she could get a dog. Considered an unlikely feat that evening, a magical thing occurred and Cam Atkinson did indeed score - three goals, to be exact! Young Maddie and her family adopted a female black Lab mix from the Delaware County Humane Society on January 25th, 2016. Of course, they named her Cam! A few weeks later, at the Nationwide Arena, Maddie was able to meet superstar hockey player, Cam Atkinson, and introduce to him the beautiful dog she adopted after his scoring spree on her birthday.

The Cambodian Razorback is mainly found in the Mekong River Valley region in Cambodia; however, even in this region, they are considered a rare breed. Although very distinctive from the three well-known ridgeback breeds, the Cambodian Razorback is in a category by itself. They are thought to be an ancient or primitive breed, but also a pariah breed and natural survivalists. They are very capable of becoming excellent family companions when properly trained and handled. The Cambodian Razorback can become extremely aggressive towards strangers or other pets. They can do well living indoors when provided ample time to run and stretch their legs; otherwise, they do prefer the outdoors. Socialization should begin as soon as possible, as well as training. They will need a dominant leader within the home or they will try to assume that role. The Cambodian Razorbacks that are not running feral through the Mekong River Valley are mainly used by the farmers in that region to protect their livestock and homes. They can be found in several different colors including black, brown, blue, and fawn. They have the notable ridge of hair that forms down their back are generally around two inches long. Even though people outside of Cambodia have dubbed them the Cambodian Razorback, Cambodians do not have a specific name for this breed.
