Blindspot Dog Name Considerations

When you make the decision to get a new dog, you probably spent a lot of time thinking about what breed to get, whether to buy or adopt and several other similar deliberations. Hence, it only makes sense to put this much thought and consideration when you finally have to give your new dog a name. But with the thousands of options and possible names to choose from, where do you start?

A good way to narrow down your options is to determine the type of name that you want to give your dog. Do you want a human name for your pooch? Would you rather give them a common pet nickname? Or maybe you want a name that coincides with your dog’s attributes, such as color, size or temperament. All these are great considerations that will help you with the naming process and decision.

You should also consider names that are easily recognizable for your pooch. Take note that what seems easy for you to recognize may be hard to perceive for your dog. Dogs generally have a limited understanding of words and names. Therefore, you should steer clear of long names; those that contain one to two syllables are the best choices.
